Established in 1997, QDB is fully owned by the State of Qatar. It has an authorized capital of QR 200 million (about US$ 55 million) paid in full by the Government of the State of Qatar.
One major purpose of this website is to make the prospective investors aware of the investment opportunities that Qatar offers in the new Millennium. Anyone seeking information on Qatar economy and QDB will also find this site informative.
QDB plays an active role in the economic and industrial development of the State of Qatar by helping diversify its industrial base through the promotion and financing of small and medium size industrial projects.
QDB's lending policy gives priority to industrial projects having the following features:
- high technology.
- utilization of local and other GCC countries' raw material and resources.
- complement or provide support to existing projects
- non-labor intensive.
Within the framework of its activities, QDB also aims to develop industrial and technological cooperation between Qatari businessmen and foreign companies and facilitate the transfer of modern technology with the objective of setting up industrial joint ventures in Qatar.
